What Flopnado has that Holdem Manager 3 doesn't

Stats by position

See each player's stats from the seat they're in right now.

A player with 19% VPIP looks tight. On the button, they play 45% of hands. A normal HUD shows you 19%. Stats by position shows you 45%.

In Flopnado this is one key. In Holdem Manager 3 you set up positional stats yourself in the HUD editor, one stat and one seat at a time.

Reverse HUD

See the stats your opponents have on you.

Each opponent's box shows your stats, from the hands they've been at your table for. Dave has played 500 hands with you. His box says you raise 35%. That's how loose you look to Dave.

Holdem Manager 3 doesn't have this in its HUD. Its reports have a "Vs Player" filter, but you use that after your session, not at the table.

Both are one key away while you play. They come with the €20 licence.

A free HUD at every stake, on every table

Holdem Manager 3's free version stops at $0.05/$0.10, with a HUD on one table.

After its 14-day trial, Holdem Manager 3 drops to a free version. These are the limits, from its own help pages:

  • Cash games up to $0.05/$0.10.
  • Tournaments up to a $5 buy-in.
  • The HUD works on one table only.
  • Reports only use 500 hands.
  • The HUD and reports show a free-version message.

Flopnado's free HUD works at every stake, on every table, with no time limit.

It runs on a Mac

Holdem Manager 3 is Windows only. Its staff said on its forum that there are no plans for a Mac version. To use it on a Mac, you have to run Windows inside Parallels.

Flopnado runs on your Mac itself. There's one download for Apple chip Macs and one for Intel. There's more in Poker HUD for Mac.

Calculators, a GTO solver and a trainer

Holdem Manager 3 doesn't come with any calculators or a solver. Flopnado's €20 licence gets you:

  • Hand vs range and range vs range equity.
  • Up to 9 ranges on one board.
  • Every flop, turn and river for a range.
  • A GTO solver that gets the same answer as PioSolver. See the comparison.
  • A trainer that drills you on your own solves.

These lock while a poker table is open, so they stay inside the poker sites' rules. The HUD keeps working.

What Holdem Manager 3 costs

Holdem Manager 3 is sold by game. Hold'em is $100. Omaha is a separate program, Omaha Manager 3, and it's also $100. Both together are $160.

There's also a cheaper Small Stakes version: $65 for Hold'em, or $100 for both games. It only covers games up to $0.25/$0.50 No Limit and tournaments up to a $22 buy-in. Move up past that and you have to upgrade.

The first year of updates comes with it. After that there's a yearly support and maintenance fee, and it renews on its own. It's $69.99 a year for Hold'em, or $44.99 for Small Stakes Hold'em. Hold'em and Omaha together is $99.99 a year.

If you stop paying, you keep the version you have. You don't get the fixes Holdem Manager makes when a poker site changes its hand histories. Its add-ons also stop working.

Over three years, Hold'em at every stake comes to $239.98. Small Stakes Hold'em comes to $154.98. Ignition needs a paid add-on on top, the Hand Grabber, at $39.99 a year.

Flopnado has no subscriptions and no yearly payments. The HUD and analytics are free. The €20 licence is paid once.

What you get free in Flopnado

The HUD

The HUD reads the hand history files your poker site saves. The numbers update after every hand. Each opponent gets a line of stats on the table. You pick which stats show, what order they go in and what colour they are. You can have a line or a box.

One line of stats over each player.
One line of stats over each player.

Click the + on a player and all their stats open. There are 36 in all. Preflop ones like steal, 3-bet and blind defence. Postflop ones like c-bet, check-raise and float. And showdown stats. Hover over any stat and it tells you what it means and how it's worked out. They're all on the stats page too.

The popup has three buttons, FLP, TRN and RVR. Press one and the postflop stats are counted from that street only. A player might c-bet 60% overall but only 30% on the turn. On the turn, you see the 30%.

There's a tick box in the HUD settings to split cash and tournament stats. With it on, a cash table shows each player's cash hands only. A tournament table shows their tournament hands only.

You can also leave a note on any player. Click the note icon on their stats, type your note, and pick a tag like Fish, Reg, Nit or Maniac. The icon turns the tag's colour, and hovering over it shows the note.

The analytics

You get a graph of your results. A second line shows what you should have won in your all-in hands, so you can see if you're running bad or playing bad. There are also lines for hands that went to showdown and hands that didn't.

You can see each session, a chart of which starting hands win and lose you money, and every hand in a list. Double-click a hand to replay it. At each step it shows your equity, the pot odds and your EV against the range you give the other player. You can filter by date, session, table size, position, and cash or tournament.

What Holdem Manager 3 does that Flopnado doesn't

Your own stats and HUD designs

Holdem Manager 3 tracks thousands of stats, and you can build your own HUD and popups from them. You can colour a stat by its value, so a low raise percentage turns red. It also has a picture HUD, with rings that show how loose and how aggressive each player is. Flopnado's 36 stats are fixed. You can't add new ones.

More detailed notes

Flopnado gives you one note and one tag per player. Holdem Manager 3 lets you write notes and colour players too. With its NoteCaddy add-on, it also writes notes on its own from your hands.

HUD filters

Holdem Manager 3 can show only stats from the stake you're playing, from your last few hands or weeks, or from one table size. Flopnado can keep cash and tournaments apart, but it counts every stake together.

Omaha and other games

With Omaha Manager 3, you can track Omaha too. Holdem Manager 3 also does Pot Limit and Fixed Limit Hold'em. Flopnado is built for No Limit Hold'em.

Reports

Holdem Manager 3 has over 25 reports, and you can build your own. Its "Situational Views" put your c-betting, 3-betting, river play and tournament all-ins on one screen each. Its Leak Explorer add-on compares your stats with winning players. It has a free version, or costs $39.99 a year.

More sites

Holdem Manager 3 has a HUD on partypoker, Unibet, Merge, People's Poker and a few other networks. It can import GGPoker, CoinPoker, ClubGG and BetRivers hands so you can review them after you play, but there's no HUD on those sites. With its paid add-on it also works on Ignition, and other companies make converters for the Asian poker apps.

Flopnado works on PokerStars, 888poker, ACR, BlackChip, PokerKing and Winamax. It also works on the iPoker sites: bet365, Betsson, Red Star, Paddy Power, Sky Poker and any other iPoker site. There's a setup guide for each one.

Bringing your old hands

Holdem Manager 3 can take your database from PokerTracker 4 or Holdem Manager 2. Flopnado can't read another tracker's database. It can import the original hand history files, if you still have them.

Try it at your own tables

The HUD and analytics are free. Download Flopnado and play a session with it.

Stats by position, the reverse HUD and the solver come with the €20 licence, paid once.
